I really need to know the times that the T.I.E band are in this week and next as a I need to book in some studio time and I can't without knowing timings and whatnot...someone get back to me ASAP please. Danke
The way that Summer sings this song presents a fun, upbeat outlook on how to grab the attention of someone you are in love with. Personally, I wouldn't go to these lengths, but nonetheless, you get the point. "What would I have to do to get you to notice me too do I stand in line one of a million admiring eyes Walk a tightrope way up high write your name across the sky I'm going crazy just to let you know you'd be amazed how much I love you so baby when I get my hands on you I won't let go this time...
Obviously, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out whom Summer is referring to in this particular song, but the lyrics, as well as the beat are equally infectious (no pun intended). Summer was inspired to create the song after police on Sunset Boulevard stopped her secretary. Although she was dressed in business clothing, they mistook her as a "street employee." Like many of her songs, this track was also used in a movie: Picture Perfect (1997), which starred Jennifer Aniston. "Toot toot hey beep...
During the 1970s, Donna Summer was known for producing a slew of popular disco favorites. Due to her extensive list of hits, she earned the title of "Queen of Disco." Summer also enjoyed continuous success with hits that followed her throughout the late 80s (a feat that is quite rare in the music industry). Her songs weren't restricted just to the genre of disco; Summer dabbled in the arenas of gospel, R&B, as well as rock and roll. Grammy Awards soon followed in these categories. She is also one of the few...
The "disco sound", while unique, almost defies a unified description, as it is an ultra-inclusive art form that draws on as many influences as it produces interpretations. Jazz, classical, calypso, rock, Latin, soul, funk, and new technologies - just to name a few of the obvious - were all mingled with aplomb. Vocals can be frivolous or serious love intrigues - all the way to extremely serious socially-conscious commentary. The music tended to layer soaring, often-reverberated vocals, which are often doubled by...
I think that we should have probably done more research into our storyline and prepared our presentation earlier on in the process, I feel that Heidi didn’t have enough parts vocal-wise and that she should have maybe paid more attention in our rehearsals so Ginger Dave didn’t have to keep reminding her when to come in, but in all fairness I think anyone would have found it difficult due to the constant changes in the music. Performance wise I don’t think I would change anything as we did our best and at the end of...
Overall I think we managed to achieve our goals and successfully interpret our picture and work to the brief. Despite a few technical faults and the odd confusion in reference to timing and bar length in the second performance we managed to overcome these issues in the third. From all of us being close and enjoying performing it helped us with the final performance as we all knew where each other stood. From concentrating on each others parts as well as our own we managed to perfect our timing. There were barely...
· We worked well as a team, which was a good effort considering we didn’t know each other well (apart from Becky and I) this meant that we found it easy to suggest our ideas and question each others (ideas). We used trial and error effectively and worked together to help each other with timings and personal issues within the piece. · Even though we had two pianists (Becky and I) we managed to split the parts and make sure we both had an equal amount to play, it was difficult at times as a certain...
